Interview
with Inge Blockmans
v The toilet seat: Without the normal
toilet seat, the toilet is too big and uncomfortable. But it can be a little
smaller than the usual toilet seat.
v The size of the toilet: It would be
the best if the portable toilet has the same height as her wheelchair. The
height from the seat till the floor is 48 cm.
v For the transfer: There is no arm
support or handle needed, but it is important to have some grip on the toilet.
Her hands need to clamp around the seat.
v Storage: It’s not defined yet what
the best place for storage is, under the wheelchair is good place to store the
toilet but not easy to catch and use it. And almost impossible to put the
toilet back under the wheelchair. In the backpack is an option, it needs to fit
in the backpack. But the backpack is annoying when someone wants to help/ push
the wheelchair. If you use the backpack as storage place, she needs to take the
backpack from her wheelchair, then open it. She takes out the toilet, (fold it
open, ) use it.
To keep in
mind:
·
Camping
chair with textile is not handy: it isn’t stable enough and the textile is not
a good idea.
·
Think
of the materials, how does it feel? Texture, hot-cold, smooth, color.. (black;
you don’t see the dust)
·
It
needs to be waterproof (also the frame). You use it outside as inside (France
toilets)
